FEELING A LITTLE SHEEPISH DURING FLIGHT

KEY PIECE 1) SHEERING

Inspired by the aviatrix of flights. Think Cockpits, googles and the endless
skies with no limits.
If there's a piece to invest all your money in this season make sure
it has some sort of shearling aviator coat or jacket.

Burberry as seen above has some delightful excellent examples.
The leather sheering jacket is top priority with most brands from high street to
"hey big spender" having their own version.

Ladies, team up with tailored shorts and fitted jumpers for an edgy casual look
and by night a beautiful Preen dress for flirt classic look.
Boys, think Jean Paul Gaultier inspirated,
Stripe sweats and tailored trousers for maximum impact.

FESTIVAL FASHION FUN

FESTIVAL SEASON

With Glastonbury Festival finishing this week
bringing back very tanned rockers who are now singing the blues;
The weather is shining and what best but to go to a festival.
If not being able to shower
makes you want to eeekkkk and the use of
face wipes being your only remedy to smell remotely fresh under
your pits, have no fear.
You can always get a weekend ticket, book yourself
into the nearby hotel or b&b down the road or similarly suck it in and bare it which I did!
Festivals are an experience if anything.
Music, Weather if you are lucky, Beer, Beer and more Beer
and oh yes porta loos and the gurning faces of happy hippies.
D E L I G H T F U L !
so whether it's V, Leeds, Field day (which I can't wait for)
Benni, Sonar, Melt blah blah blah have a good time x

OH GAGA OH LA LA

Love her so much.  This time last year I couldn't stand her and well
I was happy when someone snapped her album.  It was hot, It was sweaty and having her pa pa poker face on repeat was driving me insane.
Not my cuppa tea.
But hasn't she changed over the last 12 months.
Still wearing her crazy outfits and unpractically airport attire of mesh, chaps and Noritaka Tatehana monsters on her feet and falling over.  I still think she's one of favorites.

GOING GLEN COCO

My early morning douse of Chanel.
In the middle of reading her biography.
Here are some facts that you may or may not of known.

1. Gabrielle Chanel came from nothing with her mother working in a poorhouse where she was born.

2. Her childhood wasn't the best so when she got rich she paid her brothers off to pretend they didn't exist.

3. 'Coco' became her nickname from a short career as a cafe and concert singer.  She also served briefly
as a nurse in the war.

4.  Her favorite number is 5.

5.  Although Coco, had numerous affairs and relationships she never got married.

6.  When she died Gabrielle went to her grave as 'Gabrielle Chasnel'.  This is because
her parents were not married at the time of her birth so she didn't want to be humiliated
as a being
born out of wedlock. :(

HEAD STUCK

Hi lovelies, I wanted to send my apologies for lack of post recently.  I promise to be better.  There are a few things I have in the pipe line at the moment so please do be patient.  Love you all xxx

ALL HALE THE MENSWEAR GODDESS

PENELOPE ARMSTRONG
GRADUATION FASHION WEEK HOT NEW DESIGNER

It's that time again, London Fashion Week.
Those late nights, pricked fingers, coffee and fag diet
and losing your own body weight from lack of food
and no sleep has FINALLY paid off.
Only the best get to see their hard sweat and tear designs
to be
strolled down the LDN sweeping catwalk floor
and one can be said for Manchester's beauty
Penelope Armstrong.
Penelope's collection shows a level of imagination that suggests a "fresh eyes" approach,
almost as if she's able to remove herself from the current conventions of mens
fashion and say "hey, lets break from the norm" or just "open your mind".
I think I've just plagiarised two TV commercials with those quotes, but "Quite frankly, I don't give a damn" (see, I can rip off films too)
One thing is for sure, Penelope's collection isn't ripping anyone off. New, original, different and
one to watch!

FIRE UP THE QUATTRO

I WAS SHOT, AND TAKEN BACK TO 1983...OR IS THIS 2010?

Anyone who is a fan of new cult tv show Ashes To Ashes, will no doubt be eagerly anticipating this Friday's climax. You've speculated, you've re-watched all 3 series, and both series of Life On Mars, looking for clues to support your theory (and I know you have one), or perhaps its passed you by and you're thinking you're not interested in this post.

STOP! This is not a post about TV, this is a post about fashion, and how each week it seems to become more and more plausible that whilst watching the drama of 1983 London unfold, you could quite easily be drawing inspiration for your next clothing ensemble, and there is a good chance that on your next trip to Topshop/Topman you could find that said outfit.

Obviously, fashion is cyclical and it is understandable that there would be silimarities given that many current trends are derived from the 1980's, but Ashes To Ashes can now serve almost as a fashion guide.

For guys, tapered jeans, bright skinny ties and short stylish leather jackets are totally inkeeping with what is available on the high street. For girls, plenty of inspiration can be drawn from oversized jerseywear, with flashes of colour in headscarves and other accessories.

EGYPTIAN HIP HOP

NOT ACTUALLY FROM EGYPT, AND NOT HIP HOP

Don't be confused by the name! Obviously, you see a band listed called Egyptian Hip Hop and you probably get an image of a sandy stall laden road in downtown Cairo; the hustle and bustle of locals going about their daily routine, perhaps the occasional Camel, and then a group of young guys stood by the side of the road freestyling to a small stereo? Or was that just me?!

Anyway, these guys aren't Egyptian, and they don't do hip hop. They're four young guys from Manchester. I heard their track, "Rad Pitt" recently and thought I might have stumbled across a rare demo by "The Cure". Not only does frontman, Alexander Hewitt have a similarity to Robert Smith, but instrumentally, there are definite delicate tones drawing you away from the foreground vocal here in a way reminiscent of "Lullaby" or "Close To You"... you'll understand what I mean anyway when you hear this...I hope! There's even a bit of a "Low" era Bowie sound in there.

This kind of sound definitely lends itself to summer, and I can see EHH really getting people talking over the coming months.

Mark Twain commented "Denial aint just a river in Egypt", it could well also be a case of failing to see the merits of Egyptian Hip Hop, but I can't see anyone falling foul of that curse.

Egptian Hip Hop are on tour this summer
